However, NAB said before proceedings further, it needed to know the name of the military officer, who according to Sonia, had humiliated and thrown her out of his office, where she had gone to lodge a formal complaint against the alleged corruption of the police officer. Sonia in her interview with The News had alleged that after being hounded by SP Khalid Abdullah she had even gone to the office of NAB to seek justice as she had proof of corruption of the Faisalabad police and Excise department and that her husband was wrongly implicated in the case without any investigation and proper evidence. Sonia said a military officer who had met her there instead of taking her case seriously, humiliated her. Sonia alleged that the military officer had rather claimed that SP Abdullah was a very powerful police officer and she should go home instead of pursuing cases against him. Now NAB has said the available complaint and personal visit record of Lahore office for the last six months does not show any such entry, which could establish the aforesaid person’s visit. NAB said it is "a neutral and transparent organisation that believes in good governance". It urged the national press to verify facts before presenting "unsubstantiated" material before its valued readers. NAB said it would appreciate if the exact date and time of event were indicated, enabling the bureau to inquire into the incident.
